Olympic Zlet: Day 4 - the Great Debat
Day: [1], [2], [3], 4, [5] | Summary | Comments
On Sunday morning, the zlet participants attended mass and then had lunch in the Ukrainian Youth Hall. After lunch, the great debate was held with the topic “One should support Ukraine rather than their country of birth at the Olympic Games”. Roman Matla (Canada), Anna Schlahetko (Great Britain) and Chrystyna Moravska (Australia) were on the affirmative, and Juliana Moravska (Australia), Stefan Moskaliuk (Australia) and Larysa Brecko (Australia) were on the negative. The winner was decided by the loudness of the applause at the end of the debate, and no matter how strong the arguments of either side were, support to the home (Australian) team was undoubtedly stronger. Sunday night saw the Sydney Harbour cruise take off with a blast. Over ninety people attended the cruise, and all had a great time. We were even entertained by some Brazilian dancers!!!
