Good News!!! As most of you probably know already, our Oseredok was awarded the "Perekhodovyj Prapor", the highest award for the most active Oseredok in the United States. The award was given at the Krajovyj Zjizd in Ellenville, NY, which took place in October 15-16. We would like to share this good news with everyone in the Chicago area. We would not have earned this award without the co-operation and participation of each and everyone of you! Uprava thanks its active members, vykhovnyky, vporyadnyky, parents of our youth, and all the supporters for enthusiasm, numerous efforts, and dedication, which are constantly put into our educational program, various projects and preparation of our Oseredok's events. Also, we thank our spiritual fathers for the prayer and a word of advice; we thank our Ukrainian financial institutions and organizations for moral and financial support in all our work.
Continuing AUYA Branch Activities - Activities for the Yunatstvo will begin Saturday, September 10th at 1:30 pm in the AUYA auditorium. It is mandatory for all the Yunatstvo to be present in their uniforms. We will hold an Apel and registration for the youth groups. The Bulava requests that all parents pay their child's membership dues for the entire year and to pay any outstanding balances.
A THANKS AND CONGRATULATIONS to our "Vyznachni Chlenv"; Also, at the Krajovyj Zjizd, a few members were presented a special award. By regulations, this particular award is given to members over 55 years of age, with excellent records in activity at a particular Oseredok. From Chicago, the following members were presented with the award:_Podruha Yarka Abramiuk, Podruha Stefa Ostapczuk, Podruha Lesia Keryczynskyj, Druh Yaroslaw Wereszczak, Druh Jaroslaw Kosacz, Druh Hryhorij Jarmola, and Druh Pavlo Oleksiuk.
Saint Nicholas comes to CYM; On Saturday, December 17th, at 2:30pm Svyatyj Mykolaj will visit our Oseredok. All the good children are invited. The Heavenly Office will be opened as early as 9:00 am. The ladies from Alla Horska branch of WADFFU will be selling cookies and sandwiches starting from 1:30 pm.
Carolling for CYM Youth Fund; During this Christmas Season you will be visited by yunatsvo carolling. We kindly ask you to be acceptant and generous. If, by any chance, they miss your household, please contact the Oseredok office or send your donation by mail.
The traditional «Malanka» with debut and a celebration of the Old New Year will take place on Saturday, January 14th, at Chicago Marriott Downtown by the address of 540 North Michigan Ave. For further information, tickets, and table reservation, please contact Podruha Darka Kushnir-Harrison at 847-384-1350. Summer 2006 CYM Camp; here's the schedule for summer 2006 camps at Oselia, Baraboo, WI:
- Sumenyata Camp - June 25 - July 8th;
- Perekhodovyj Camp - June 9th - July 15-th;
- Starshe Yunatsvo Camp - July 2nd - July 15th;
- Molodshe Yunatsvo Camp - July 16 -July 29th;
- Soccer Camp - July 30 - August 5th;
Membership dues; With the beginning of a new calendar year, please pay your membership dues. We remind you that the annual amount for a single person is $24, and for
couple is $30. Also, Bulava is asking the parents of Yunatsvo to pay the dues in the amount of $25. If the payment is not made, the child's application will not be processed for the summer camp.
A collection of sports equipment: Sportova Referentura has started a collection of sports equipment (gently used soccer gear) for orphanages in Ukraine through the organization UCARE. We request that you participate in the Christmas collection by donating at least one item of sports equipment.
Chess Tournament: Thanks and congratulations go out to all participants and winners of our annual chess tournament, which took place on Saturday November 12, 2005. A special thanks go out to Druh Bohdan Krutiak for his time and effort of organizing and facilitating this successful event.
SC"Wings" of CYM Soccer Tournament: games of Metropolitan Indoor Soccer League will take place every Sunday at 3pm starting January 8th at Odeum Sports Complex in Villa Park, IL. We ask you to support our soccer teams! A more detailed information could be found on the above mentioned Web-Site.
A collection of clothes for orphans in Ukraine; Alia Horska branch of WADFFU is holding a collection of clothes for orphans in Ukraine at CYM Chicago until January 28th 2006. Needed is any school equipment, winter clothes and other quality clothes. Please participate in this affair by donating at least one item of clothes of good quality.
