Stockport's triumph!
This years 5-a-side tournament took place on the 14th October in Manchester. 9 teams contested for the trophy, including two teams from Manchester, Bradford and Stockport, last years finalists Nottingam and Edinburgh and debutants the Globetrotters. The tournament referees included Andriy Chymera, Paul Okopskyj and Andriy Kukhta, who all refereed fantastically.
The tournament kicked off at 14.00 with the group stages, Stockport A, Manchester A, Edinburgh and Nottingham progressing to the semi-finals.

In the semi-finals saw some very exciting football, Stockport A convincingly beat Manchester A 5-0. The other game was more closely contested, with Extra time required to settle the tie, Nottingham scoring the winning goal with 1 second go.

The final was inspiring for the spectators. Stockport, probably not considered favourites before the tournament proved they deserved the title, beating last years winners Nottingham 2-0 in the final in a compelling compact display of football. Stockport claimed this years title, Nottingham were runners up and Edinburgh claimed 3rd place. The referees player of the tournament was awarded to John Hickling of Nottingham.

After the cometition, players and spectators went to the Manchester Ukrainian club to enjoy the tournament zabava. Chorna Rosha provided the entertainment. The club provided everyone with a delicious meal. The tournament competitors created a friendly relaxed enjoyable atmosphere.
The Ukrainian Youth Association congratulates Stockport on winning the title and would like to thank Manchester club, particularly Bob Sopel, the club's chairman for supporting the event.
