St Nicholas Day
On the evening of Sunday 22nd December 2002 St. Nicholas paid a visit to the Ukrainian community in Bradford. At the start of the proceedings sumivka Katrusia Prodywus read out a brief history about St Nicholas. The sumivchi performed a short play entitled “Slippers for St Nicholas.”
The play was set in a chocolate and toy factory in the sky. In the play all the angels worked hard as St Nicholas day approached and St Nicholas was to deliver presents to well behaved children. Eventually St Nicholas arrived; he announced to all those present he had brought many gifts for the good children and even for some of the older members of the audience who had behaved throughout the year.

The angels began to pass St Nicholas presents, who called out the children and older people to come and accept the gifts from him. The evening was interesting and pleasant which was visible on the faces of all present, especially those who had received presents from St Nicholas.
