About Verchovyna

Welcome to the home page of Verchovyna - Ukrainian dance Ensemble of Melbourne, Australia. Verchovyna has been an integral part of the Ukrainian Youth Association in Melbourne for over 35 years. The ensemble has delighted and entertained audiences in many cities of Australia and participated in premier festivals throughtout Victoria.
It is the love of their heritage, culture and dance that provides the solid grounding which maked Verchovyna what it is today.
Ranging from small country towns to major venues, Verchovyna has delighted audiences throughout Australia with performances the Melbourne Concert Hall, The State Theatre and most recently the The Famour Spegeltent for the 2002 Melbourne Festival.
Throughout their Canada tour in 1994, Verchovyna was chosen to represent Australia in Winnipeg's "Folkorama", as well as staging a concert tour of their own.
For over 35 years the ensemble has been bringing to life a kaleidoscope of colour and energy, vigour and grace of traditional Ukrainian folk dance.
