CYM is pleased to announce Druzhynnyk Tabir 2008, to be held on August 29-31 during this year’s Labor Day “Zdvyh” festivities at Oselia CYM in Ellenville. This event is the first in a series of initiatives organized by the recently re-formed Referentura Druzhynnykiv, whose focus is to revitalize the activity of CYM’s druzhynyky around the United States.

For the past six months, the Referentura Druzhynnykiv has been working to develop innovative ways to encourage druzhynyky to become involved in CYM again. The first sponsored event is this tabir for druzhynnyky from Oseredky around the country to gather at CYM Oselia over Labor Day weekend and relive together some of their previous tabir experiences. Over a 2 and a half day period, participants of the tabir will engage in various activities including sporting events, a working dinner where current CYM issues will discussed, and a numerous social events. The weekend culminates with a traditional CYM vatra and BBQ. A detailed program for the weekend will be distributed shortly.

Druzhynnyk Tabir is open to all CYM members of ages 18 through 30. All tabir participants must be present in person for registration on Friday evening. Although all tabir participants are expected to pay the usual entrance fee when entering Oselia, the fee will be returned to them (in the form of a $15 voucher) after taking part in Sunday’s program of Mass, Manifestatsia and Defiliada.

The Druzhynnyk Tabir will make its home in the new tabir buildings at Oselia CYM, and overnight accommodations are available to all participants in the tabir barracks.

Dryzhynyky are required to participate in the Zdvyh festivities that take place on Sunday, August 31. Remember to bring a full CYM uniform (shirt, pants/skirt, tie, emblems and patches, dark socks and dress shoes) with them in order to be registered in the tabir.
