The Franklin Mineral Museum
On March 17, 2002 we visited the Franklin Mineral Museum in Franklin, New Jersey.
The museum stands on the site of an old mineral mine, where for over a century
minerals were excavated. Over 350 types of minerals are indigenous to the area,
and many of the fluoresce when observed under a shortwave light. Our children
(and adults) enjoyed the various fluorescent colors best of all!
