On Saturday, September 18th, 2010 more than 80 yunatstvo and their families gathered for the opening apel in Chicago CYM. Children regaled each other with stories of the beginning of the school year and reminisced over tabir memories from the summer. Podruha Yarka Abramiuk, holova of the Chicago oseredok, gave a moving speech about the necessity of Ukrainian-Americans to maintain cultural identity during these trying times of regime change in Ukraine. After apel, while parents registered their children, yunatstvo enjoyed pizza courtesy of Bulava.
