On Saturday, January 27, 2001, in the auditorium of St. Nicholas Ukrainian Catholic School, youth organizations CYM and PLAST, students of Ridna Shkola, parents and other members of the Ukrainian community gathered to pay tribute to the young men who died at the battle of Kruty. Mrs. Nadia Chojnacky, director of Ridna Shkola, greeted and thanked all for coming and remembering the fallen heroes. Our branch was responsible for organizing and running the program. Druh Mark Krutiak led the program and apel. Druh Andrij Luczak-Glubisz gave the "sviatochne slovo" about the history of this event. Our young vocal group of girls, "Vinok", sang songs under the direction of Wolodymyr Popowycz. Mr. Zenon Modryckyj, a representative of the Ukrainian Congress Committee of America gave a closing speech with gratitude for all those who had come to commemorate this solemn event.
