Manchester Branch holds AGM
Manchester CYM held its annual general meeting on Sunday 10 February 2008 and was attended by 21 people including representatives from other local Ukrainian organisations. The meeting was chaired by Mike Mandziy and minutes were taken by Roman Panas. Individual reports were presented by the Oseredok Secretary, the Treasurer, the Organisational Director, the Sports Director, the Cultural Director, the Director of Sumeniata activities, the Educational Director, the Oseredok President and the Audit Commission. The AGM was also addressed by the President of the National Committee, Mr Bohdan Prykhidny. The reports touched on the wide-ranging activities of the oseredok in the previous year, which included weekly troupe meetings, participation in national CYM rallies and sporting events, participation in the summer camps in Tarasivka, dance practices, youth tests (ispyty), carol singing and visiting Ukrainian families in the Manchester area over the Christmas period, the commemoration of Kruty, participation in the Remembrance Commemoration in Salford Cathedral to mark the Holodomor Tragedy, symbolic guard duties at the Easter Plashchenytsya in the local Ukrainian Catholic Church, representation at the Educational and CYMnet Conferences, participation in miscellaneous events organised by the local Ukrainian community, and many other activities. Following a vote of confidence in the activities of the outgoing Committee, a new Committee was elected with Evhen Kokhan duly elected as Chairman
