Annual General Meeting
On the 1st of February 2004, the members of the Ukrainian Youth Association (CYM) gathered for the AGM of the Manchester branch. Also present were the invited guests respresenting the other ukrainian organisations in Manchester.
The annual reports highlighted all the hard work the members of the Manchester committee and the associated members had put in throughout the past year.
Manchester organised many events throughout the year, including St. Michael’s zabava, Den skorboty, Andriyivskiy vechir, Kolyada and Collection for Pysanka.
The older (starshi) boys won the CYM national football competition in Tarasivka (our camp site) in 2003.
Podillia (our dance group) gave many performances, including at the regional and national CYM competitions, at the Independence Day Concert and the Christmas Concert in Manchester, at the 40 years of CYM in Stockport celebration and at a concert for the Patriach's visit.
At the national competition held in Tarasivka in 2003, we won 5 first places. Halyna Mandzij recited a poem, the under 6s (sumenyata) sang as a choir, as did the over 18s, a trio of older (starshi) girls sang and the younger (molodshi) boys danced their way to victory.
Our active sumenyata have been up to so much that there isn’t enough room here to write about half of it. This year they have made pysanky, made cards for mothers day and Christmas, decorated little cakes and biscuits and have sung in concerts and competitions.
The head of the regional committee - M. Kopczyk - congratulated the committee for such an excellent and full programme of events.
The new committee was chosen with E. Kochan re-elected as the chairman of the Manchester branch.
On the 7th Feb at the first meeting of the committee the following roles were assigned:
