St. Michael's Dance
On Saturday 20th November 2004, CYM Manchester hosted a zabava to celebrate the anniversary of St. Michael, the patron of CYM. Over 350 people came from branches such as Bradford, Rochdale, Stockport, Nottingham, Coventry, Derby and Bolton, not to mention Manchester itself. All the Michaels were welcomed at the door with a red carnation buttonhole and later in the evening everyone drank a toast to their good health and sang them a song wishing them many years of good fortune. A special cake baked in their honour was then distributed to everyone at the dance. With traditional Ukrainian music from ‘Chorna Roza’ and the overwhelming support from CYM branches all over the country, suffice to say everyone had a great night!
