December 6, 2006 The Embassy of Ukraine in Canada has the honour to announce that on the occasion of the 15th anniversary of Canada’s recognition of the independence of Ukraine the President of Ukraine Viktor Yuschenko by Decree No. 1027/2006 dated December 04, 2006 awarded the former Prime Minister of Canada, the Right Honourable Brian MULRONEY the Order of Duke Yaroslav the Wise “for his defining personal role in Canada’s recognition of the independence of Ukraine and considerable contribution in the development of Ukrainian-Canadian relations,” and by Decree No. 1028/2006 dated December 04, 2006 awarded the First Vice-President of the Ukrainian World Congress Eugene CZOLIJ the Order of Merit “for his considerable personal contribution to the development of Ukrainian-Canadian relations.” The Embassy sincerely congratulates the laureates of the high state orders of Ukraine and expresses its highest consideration and appreciation of their role in the strengthening of the friendly Ukrainian-Canadian relations.
