Valentine Day
This year's Valentine's Dance was organized and run by our starshe yunatstvo. Preparations began a few weeks earlier
when responsibilities were handed out. It's not that easy to figure out a poster, sell tickets, plan the evening's program,
choose the music…
But with some help from the vykhovnyky and parents, everything was ready on time.

All Ukrainian youth in Calgary were invited for this evening, so our Sumivtsi were not only the organizers, but also the
hosts of this event. The most difficult job, no doubt, was that of the disc jockey, whose choice of music set the mood for
the whole evening.
Slavko took on the role of D.J. which he handled very well indeed
What would the evening be like without some competitions! The favorite contest was the best karaoke performance.

It was tough to choose a winner. The catchy tunes of Ukrainian hits were performed really nicely by the Sumivtsi.

This was the first dance organized by our sumivtsi. They gained good insight, as well as learned alot. We hope
they will organize many more dances, and not just for the youth!
