Young Soccer players
Last week, two of our groups (royee) had the opportunity to acquire some new soccer skills! Taking
advantage of the nice, sunny weather, Yevhen, a former soccer player from Ukraine, had a soccer
workshop with the children.
Yevhen demonstrated some fancy footwork and maneuvers with the soccer ball. All the children had a
chance to practice their new found skills from various field positions to score a goal. It wasn't
always so easy to score, but that is what practicing is all about. The children enjoyed this
activity so much, that their parents had difficulty retrieving them for home. No one was in a
hurry to leave the soccer field!
Not to be outdone, our sumenyata also had a chance to kick around some soccer balls. They seemed
to have at least as much fun.
We all hope the weather this fall will allow Yevhen to do another soccer skills workshop with us.
