CYM Family day

A Geelong CYM Family day was organised for Sunday 19th March. A number of CYM Geelong families took advantage of some great autumn weather, to travel into the Otway Ranges behind Lorne. Leaving Geelong after Divine Liturgy, families met at the Blanket Leaf Picnic Ground. Some lit fires for a BBQ, others laid out delicious picnics. Whilst the adults chatted over coffee, junatstvo headed off for a walk on one of the many trails heading out from the picnic ground. On their return, all (except for a few well fed volunteers to mind the picnic paraphenalia) headed off to Erskine Falls, 2km away. The walk down to the bottom of the falls was a highlight of the day, with most parents happy to view the waterfall from a look out, whilst junatstvo clambered over rocks to slip and slide on the moss covered rocks at the base of the falls. Returning to the Blanket Leaf Picnic Ground, a final coffee and cake was had by most, before the drive back to Geelong, rounding off a relaxing and most enjoyable afternoon.
